He moves intelligently, leads the line, backs into and bullies defenders, is dominant in the air and in front of goal, knows how to put the ball in the back of the net.
The key to all the aforementioned however is those four words: "when he's on form".
Because that's the rub with Benteke. It's what all Villa fans have noticed during his three years at Villa Park, during which time he's scored basically a goal every other game.
The 24-year-old goes through peaks and troughs. One week he can be sensational, the next, barely noticeable.
Nowhere has this been more noticeable than in Villa's FA Cup campaign. In the semi-final against Liverpool, he was excellent, linking with teammates, running channels, pulling defenders into positions they don't want to go into and scoring the all-important equaliser.
Then in the final, the 4-0 loss to Arsenal, he was a spare part, pretty much unnoticed. Granted, he wasn't the only one, but he was invisible.
